Ammonia (R717) is commonly used as a refrigerant in various Industrial applications as well within commercial refrigeration. It provides the benefit of low environmental impact combined with attractive cost compared to HFC refrigerants. Water quality in these systems can vary heavily. If the water quality is not good, there can be challenges such as corrosion or scaling and fouling. Our wide range of BPHEs covers the requirements of many types of oil cooling, such as for hydraulic, gearbox and transmission oil. The reliability and compactness of our BPHEs are highly valued in oil-cooling applications for plastic injection molding, wind power, cranes, presses, crushers, mining equipment and for general power units where space for the heat exchanger is limited and access for maintenance restricted. The All-Stainless or Sealix® ranges are recommended to be used when copper leaching needs to be kept at a minimum.
